BuildingIQ optimizes heating and cooling of commercial buildings using data analytics, helping to reduce energy consumption and bills.

BuildingIQ offers technology-enabled efficiency improvement services for commercial buildings. Its cloud-based Predictive Energy Optimization platform leverages information from the building’s management system, as well as variables such as weather forecasts, occupancy patterns, energy rates and utility signals to make automatic adjustments to heating and cooling operations. As a result of these finely tuned adjustments, commercial buildings can reduce energy consumption from heating and cooling by as much as 25%, according to the company.

By providing consumers with meat and dairy products made entirely from plants, Impossible Foods’ creations will enable people to satisfy cravings without increasing the demands of livestock grazing on the environment. The “Impossible Burger” is currently being served at selected restaurants in New York, San Francisco and Los Angeles.

We’re proud to offer building owners an intelligent, customizable, and scalable solution to reduce heating and air conditioning consumption, a leading contributor to rising energy costs and our growing global emissions problem.

Presented in the form of real-time online dashboards, the system enables building owners and facility managers to identify savings directly attributable to the BuildingIQ service, and compare performance to baseline conditions. The platform is also able to communicate directly with utilities in order to facilitate seamless participation in demand response events. BuildingIQ’s services are offered on a subscription basis and require no significant infrastructure changes. So far, more than 140 commercial buildings use the system.

Why you should care

Commercial buildings account for nearly 20% of the USA’s energy consumption, with more than half the energy use going toward heating and lighting. In addition, buildings account for nearly 40% of the USA’s total CO2 emissions. BuildingIQ’s cloud-based cooling and heating optimisation mechanisms enable reductions in energy consumption and, consequently, CO2 emissions.

How the Global Goals are addressed

Affordable and Clean Energy

Reducing energy consumption by up to 25% in buildings by using data analytics helps reduce energy bills for consumers, making energy more affordable

Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure

BuildingIQ technology can help commercial buildings to cut their energy consumption levels, increasing the sustainability of almost all business sectors.

Climate Action

Savings from commercial buildings are significant: If all commercial buildings improved energy efficiency by 10%, CO2 emissions prevented would equal emissions from about 49 million vehicles.
